About Us

Kindred Public House is what happens when two childhood friends grow up in the same neighborhood, fall in love with the same industry, and decide to build something real from it.

We met when we were five and six years old, right up the hill in the Garland District. From hoop sessions and homework to hustle and heart, we’ve been doing life side by side ever since. We’ve worked every job you can name. Dish pit, bus boy, delivery driver, server, bartender. And through it all, one thing stayed constant: our shared love for people and the power of hospitality done right.

Kindred isn’t a concept we created out of thin air. It’s a reflection of everything we’ve lived, learned, and loved in this industry. We didn’t open this place to be trendy. We opened it to be real. To give Spokane a spot that feels like home, because it’s home to us.

Our Story

This whole thing started with a bond built in childhood and a dream forged in late nights, long shifts, and nonstop conversations about what could be.

We grew up just minutes from here and spent our lives working our way up through restaurants all across Spokane. We always talked about what we would do differently if we had our own place. Now we do.

Kindred was never about being flashy. It was about being real. About taking care of people the way we’ve always wanted to be taken care of. About creating a space with soul. A place that hits on food, drinks, service, and energy.

Every decision we’ve made, from the menu to the music to the way we train our staff, has been driven by our lived experience and our love for this city. This is the kind of place we’ve always wanted to hang out in. Now it’s yours too.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to serve food and hospitality that feel personal, intentional, and full of soul. To create a space where people feel welcome. And to never lose sight of where we came from.

We believe in
Doing things our way, not just by the book
Real hospitality, not scripted service
Flavor that makes you want to tell someone about it
Building a culture where our staff feels seen and valued
Treating guests like friends, and friends like family

Kindred is rooted in connection. Between us. Between our team. Between this city and everyone who walks through our doors.

And at the core of everything we do is a simple mindset:

Chop wood, carry water.
Show up every day. Put in the work. Stay grounded in the process.
This place wasn’t built overnight. It was built by doing the little things right, over and over, with heart.
That’s how you build something that lasts. That’s how you build Kindred.
